Went here last night for AYCE at the sushi bar. I was originally going to order ramen and our waiter was pretty adamant that it was not good and instead recommended other soups for me to try. I've had waiters recommend different items before, but none had ever been so blatant as this guy. I appreciated his opinion yet at the same time felt it was incredibly strange being warned not to order a specific dish. So I took his advice and opted for the AYCE sushi.
We enjoyed their AYCE menu. The various appetizers, nigiri, and two rolls we ordered were all quite good. Both the sushi and nigiri were rather large, meaning big individual pieces with a lot of rice. I tend to prefer smaller pieces so that I can try a larger variety of items rather than getting full so easily on larger portions.
Another tiny negative was that we had to wait a few minutes for the hostess to appear. Obviously it is quite normal to have to wait for your table, but someone should always be up front to take your name down or at least greet you. I don't think I've ever seen a dine-in restaurant with a completely empty hostess stand before and just found it very unusual.
I thought the food and atmosphere overall was nice, but something about the experience was just a bit off. I personally had a good time, so I'm not sure to be honest. But I would be happy to come here again and give the a la carte menu a try (prices look pretty good).
