| - Firefly is perfect for groups, but definitely make reservations! Firefly's ambiance is high-energy and a bit romantic, as evidenced by the dim lights and curtains dividing areas.
We made reservations for 8 people at 6:45 and were seated right away in a booth that comfortably fit all 8 of us. It was especially nice because we were seated in a little nook that gave us privacy, and more importantly, a quieter area so that we could actually hear each other.
Disclaimer: I am not a sangria connoisseur, so my taste is not very discriminating. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED the sparkling wine sangria; I regret not getting a pitcher. It went down just like juice. It is on the sweeter side, so beware if you like a more mild sangria.
As for the tapas, I had the tuna tartare and the petite filet. The tuna tartare was pretty bland and rather oily, however, I was impressed with how fresh the fish was! This was the first time I had tuna tartare, so maybe that was how it was supposed to taste, but I would not get it again. However, I loved the pairing with taro chips (disclaimer: I may be a little partial because I am from Hawaii) because it was a little different and made up for the oiliness of the marinade. The petite filet was DELICIOUS! It was cooked perfectly, moist, and soft. I absolutely loved the red wine sauce, as well as the fact that it came with mushrooms! It is a must have!
My friend had the firefly fries, which I heard good things about. However, I thought it was also rather bland and oily, and did not eat too many of them.
All in all, I would definitely return for the sangria and because of all of the enticing tapa options! There are so many other tapas I would love to return to try. Additionally, I didn't save any room for dessert and the banana-nutella sandwiches are calling my name! Firefly is perfect for groups of friends to catch up!
