| - Here's the problems with Phuong:
1) Alterations are not ready when they say they will be.
I dropped two suit jackets and a pair of slacks off on a Tuesday, one jacket was getting the sleeves hemmed ($28), both jackets were getting a roll taken out of the back near the collar (this happens on all my suits due to my shoulder width or "square shoulders" (also $28 per jacket), and the slacks were getting the pockets replaced ($14). Pick up was scheduled for the following Tuesday. I get a text telling me they won't be ready until Saturday. I don't get them until Tuesday two weeks after drop-off.
2) There is a strong language barrier. Talking to them on the phone is frustrating and English is very tough for this store.
3) Unfinished work. Not only did it take two weeks, they didn't complete the job. I picked up the jackets and didn't think to try them on at the store, it was pretty chaotic in there. I get them home and he didn't TOUCH one of the jackets that needed the collar roll removed, all the tags were still on the jacket. The other jacket he did the sleeves (I think) but again neglected the collar roll. I WAS CHARGED FOR WORK HE DID NOT PERFORM. When I take the suit jackets back and show them, he says "OK OK" and wants to fix it. No deal, I demanded a refund and got one.
4) Pricey. As you can see from my first point, $28 for a collar roll is pricey. I went down the street to where I should have gone the first time. Linh's Alterations is 2 blocks away at 1310 Silverado Ranch in the Auto Zone plaza. The ladies in this store were warm and welcoming, super nice people. Plus they only charged $20 to remove the collar roll. 30% less than Phuong, and a much nicer staff of people.
There's a much better option for alterations down the street. Go to Linh's, it is literally less than a mile away.
