  • Pleasantly surprised by Rhumbar after checking out two other bars on the strip. On the outer part of the Mirage, you will see a patio with people smoking hookah and listening to a wide variety of music. There was no entrance fee, but the maitre d' said that he could get our table within a few minutes. We waited in the bar area and was seated in the outer rim. The drinks can be pretty pricey,but it is Vegas and I can't blame you for charing us $12-$14 for a cocktail. It better be a pretty damn good cocktail...and actually...it was. Spanish Trampoline was delicious and tasted like a mojito but the alcohol hits you quick. I was surprised by how minty it was. After downing that drink I have the Latin Manhattan, much more bitter than the Spanish Trampoline but was just as delicious. Service was pretty quick and our waitress frequently checked up on us. We didn't smoke any hookah, but plenty of other people at the tables were. We spent out night dancing, and I have to admit that the DJ was pretty decent. He played a mix of 70s, 80s, 90s, and current hits. The age group for Rhumbar on this night range from mid 30s to 50 year olds even. The DJ was playing for the crowd and people were loving it. Every once in awhile you'll hear a Taylor Swift dubstep song mixed in there to give it a little spice, but the crowd seemed to enjoy the 80s the best. The dance floor is small but it doesn't feel cramped because you have plenty of fresh air blowing in. Flat screen TVs are there for you to enjoy and it's fun to people watch from where you are sitting. I would definitely come back to Rhumbar and it seemed like my friends had an awesome time there...along with the 65 year old lady who was celebrating her birthday there with her friends! She came to Vegas to break a hip and she looked fabulous doing it!
