Krieg's, sometimes known by its subtitle, "Itz the Berries," is one of the best-kept secrets of Oberlin. Several minutes drive (or a solid bike-ride) away on 58, Krieg's frozen custard stand has amazing soft-serve and hand-dipped ice creams made from local ingredients. There is a special frozen yogurt flavor each week- pumpkin and peach are especially excellent. There is also food, but my friends and I have never eaten anything but the wonderful desserts.
The staff are friendly and prompt. They close for the winter, but open well before summer kicks in and are open until October 31st. There are tables and a grassy area nearby, just across the gravel parking area. This is a great roadside stand that seems to be run by a local family who also owns a local berry farm.
