I am just not a fan of this place. I've given it three separate chances, with three completely different dinner partners. Each time was worse than the time before.
The sashimi was rather warm, the rolls lackluster. The cocktails, while tasty, are very expensive. And somebody must have hired their cousin as a DJ, because some kid set up speakers and a laptop behind the bar area and proceeded to drive us crazy with his inability to (even try to) beatmatch.
I'm not sure how so many people find this place a winner. Maybe they've never eaten sushi in a really good establishment.
A bummer, because I love downtown Phoenix and I really want to support the restaurants in this area. I just can't bring myself to hit this place up again. :/
