I understand the history of the place. It's outlasted a lot of other PHX bars, some good some not. And I understand the significance of the place like a lot of cities: The Cuff in Seattle, the Hidden Door in Dallas, the Wrangler in Denver, Mary's in Houston, etc etc.
But when people around this town complain about not supporting a place that's a true legend in town, do you think it might be programming?
As in--it's 10 pm, on a Saturday, and I don't consider my Saturday night party bar to be a place showing a MOVIE (and Robert Altman's "The Player" on top of that). I don't know how that equates to "Hey it's Saturday night! Let's go out and have a good time!"
If I wanted to watch a movie I'll go to, I don't know--the movies? Still love the layout and their Halloween decorations are legendary. But tonight was a snooze and a waste of a drive across the valley.
