I've been a Hertz Gold member for almost 20 years, and it's usually a great benefit. But lately Hertz has had problems at multiple airports with cars being left in the wrong numbered stall. They used to pre-print your contract and hang it from the rear-view mirror, but now they print your contract at the exit gate. Since making this change, they've given me the wrong car 4 or 5 times (twice just this week!), and in two cases my designated stall was empty.
At this particular location, the wrong car was in my designated stall, but I didn't realize it at first, and neither did the exit gate attendant. He checked my driver's license and then printed out a contract for the wrong person -- the person who that car was supposed to be assigned to. And I didn't notice his mistake until I was driving away, so I had to loop around and get the right contract from him. This level of quality control is unacceptable.
On the positive side, the return attendant was friendly and efficient.
