I love the Bata Shoe Museum! It's a great way to learn more about history with the common thread of shoes stitching it all together.
Suggest starting at the basement, which features a timeline of shoes from all cultures starting from very ancient to modern day. On the upper floors they have more iconic styles and shoes from famous people (including Justin Bieber and Terry Fox).
I really enjoyed the exhibit they had on the 'pleasures and perils of dress in the 19th century'...it was creepy but intriguing to see and learn about beautiful dyes that were laced with arsenic and impossibly narrow footwear.
The museum is on the small side (4 rooms) but definitely worth checking out. I remember visiting as a teen and coming away impressed then as well. Go visit!
