| - Let's talk about a really good dining experience that was brought down by a HORRIBLE HOSTESS. We were in the area after some shopping at the mall close by and decided to check out this restaurant after doing some research on Yelp. We arrived around 8:15pm and requested a table for 3. The asian hostess, Stacey, snubbed us and told us that there was a 2 hour wait. We did not really have a problem with that since it was a Saturday night and the restaurant appeared busy. However, I decided to hop on Open Table to see if there were any reservations available. Low and behold, there was an 8:45, 9:00, 9:15... reservation for 3 available. We decided to reserve the 8:45pm reservation and hang out til our time was up....
We returned to the restaurant at 8:45pm and let the hostess know that we had a reservation. Again, SNUBBED BY STACEY and surprise, there was a table available for us! We were shocked at how she did not seem to care that she told us that there was a 2 hour wait when we were able to reserve a table for 30 minutes later...
Beyond the horrible waitress, I would rate this restaurant 4 stars. Our waiter AJ was amazing. He should get 5+ stars He was friendly, had great recommendations and was very attentive to our needs. Everyone that served us was friendly and super attentive!
The food was 4 stars. We enjoyed the following items:
- The Bacon Fat Heirloom Popcorn -- This was probably the most disappointing dish we had. There were hints of bacon fat but it needed some kind of kick like an herb to make it pop?
- The Original Chopped Salad -- Apparently it has it's own Facebook page. It's definitely worth the hype! It's similar to a tea salad at a burmese restaurant in the way it is presented.
- Buttermilk Chicken -- The chicken was juicy throughout.
- Pork Osso Buco -- Fall off the bone good.
- Pan Seared Scallops -- Recommended by our waiter and was delicious!
Overall, I would've rated this place 4 stars had it not been for our horrible hostess situation... so it's gets bumped down to 3 stars. To add insult to injury, I also want to add that I just received an email from Open Table stating that I "No Showed" for our reservation. I guess Stacey once again reiterated how much she didn't want us there...
