My experience with VCA animal hospital was absolutely awful. My staffie sharpie mix Alyce had recently lost 10lbs over a period of a week. We went into VCA and had he checked out. Turns out she had diabetes. The first thing we were told was she wasn't under weight. Even though her ribs and hip bones were more then prominently showing. After having to go back 3 times to get a prescription for insulin after being over charged for all the services we received I was forced to go to Bark Avenue for help. Because of VCA animal hospital poor service my beautiful dog was less then 1 lb away from organ failure, plus they told us two units of insulin would be enough and turns out she has needed way more. She stabilized at 14 units. VCA does not care about animals only money. I am currently paying for for all 4 of my awesome dogs at Bark Avenue and it cost about what it would for two of them at VCA. I urge anyone deciding to go here to stop and think about how much your animal means to you. O and just a side note when I asked the front desk girl what I do if Alyce gets worse her direct answer was "budget your money better or go somewhere else" because they decided to charge me for a full exam and glucose test that we were not told about and we were told by the doctor would not be charged for because of their mistake on the initial visit. Worst vet in the phoenix metro area. High prices, no caring individuals, no understanding, not willing to work with customers, no clear instructions on diagnosis given, they only give the first visit free to get you in and then charge you almost 43% more for all services compared to other vets, slow with results, no call backs, just plain bad all around. I hope the best for all the pets out there and if you truly want excellent service and awesome prices Bark Avenue where pets really do come first.
