Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong with ANY restaurant in Cosmo. I've been to 3 so far and each one has been phenomenal. My friends and I decided to give Scarpetta a try since it's Restaurant Week!
Scarpetta is an Italian restaurant that is located on the 3rd level of Cosmo. It overlooks the Bellagio fountains which makes it great date spot. It's also pretty dark and romantical in there too. If you're coming here for a date, definitely ask for window seats.
Onto the food!
Appetizers:
- Braised short rib with vegetable and farro risotto: this was delicious! The short rib is sliced (instead of the chunky ones I'm used to seeing) and the risotto was super creamy
- Creamy polenta with truffle mushrooms: this was a amazing! I love anything with truffle and if I didn't know may better, I would've thought the polenta was mashed potatoes because it was so creamy!
Entrees:
- Prime filet of beef with Swiss chard and barolo: I got this medium well and I absolutely loved it. The steak was juicy and paired well with the swiss chard
- Spaghetti with tomato and basil: cooked al dente, sauce was perfect. However, this wouldn't be something I'd get again mainly because I need some sort of meat in my meals
Dessert:
- Nutella bombolini: Fried dough rolled in sugar. Reminded me of Chinese fried donuts but with Nutella inside. This was good but wasn't my favorite.
- Amedei chocolate cake: definitely hits the chocolate spot. It's more of a dark chocolate cake which is my kind of jam!
- Mascarpone cheesecake: my favorite! It was so smooth and not overly sweet. I ate the whole thing!
Since it's Restaurant Week, this 3-course meal was $50 which is totally worth it in my opinion. Just go with someone so you can share multiple things on the menu :)
