I think my first experience with a Jamba Juice was in Denver (CO, not NC) a few years ago. That was at a standalone store. Though they apparently have been criticized for having lots of sugar - and hey, who doesn't like sugar? - their smoothies are awfully good.
It has been a few years since I've been to that location, so my memory is certainly hazy on the subject, but the menu here is different. It could be because it's been a while, and so they have changed their menu due to the critics. It could also be because that location was a company-owned store and this one is franchised. Or it could be because this is a Jamba Express and the other one is a full-fledged store. I really don't know.
But this location seems to be a bit more limited on their offerings (or at least what I remember). The flavor of the smoothie is decent, and the price was about in line, but the produce wasn't quite the same - mostly because we ended up with chunks of frozen fruit in the bottom. That's good because you know you have actual fruit, but bad because semi-frozen fruit is a little odd, you know? And it's a bit difficult to get through the straw.
