| - This Memorial Day weekend I was in town to visit my sister and my family and I decided to stay here at Windmill Inn & Suites because they provide low prices (~$80) and are pet friendly.
The front lobby is small and cute with a few tables for the free breakfast that they provide. I was helped by a young man named Ian who was the nicest dude I've ever met! he was so so so helpful and kind.
Once we got to our room, I immediately noticed the strong odor (which I assumed is because it was a pet room). the room was nice and looked because it was a suite and had a tiny lil kitchen with a microwave, coffee maker, and mini fridge. the furniture was a bit outdated but it was all cool because the furniture itself was clean.
2 PROBLEMS:
-the sheets weren't cleaned well. some bed crumbs... had to ask to get for extras
-THE A/C BEGAN TO LEAK!
because the AC was leaking, we mentioned it to the front desk who brought a maintenance guy to our room. soon after he left we got a call saying we needed to move rooms.
though it was an inconvenience, the room was just around the corner and smelled better lol.
on the first morning I stayed, I decided to check out their gym which was really just a normal suite with a clear door and a treadmill and bike in the area where a bed would be. I sufficed because im not a huge gym rat but more would've been cool.
afterwards I checked out the breakfast, which was quite good! there was a waffle maker, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, cereal, bread, eggs, sausage/bacon (depends on the day) and some biscuits and gravy. no complaints :)
I also checked out the pool, which was pretty nice except there were some dudes hanging around the side while their kids were swimming and they had open containers of alcohol which the rules outside specifically say are not allowed. I usually don't mind but I was just a bit uncomfortable being in my bikini around them. maybe that's just me though.
overall, my stay was decent. I had run into problems that would've been nice to avoid but I wasn't too mad about it. 3 stars.
