  • When someone mentions Krispy Kreme donunts...all I can think about is Krispy Kreme original donuts. The soft fluffy texture and the sinfully sweet glaze that makes each donut I eat not the last one but a gateway to another. When the franchise first opened into the GTA there was much fanfare and locations were opening or slated to open, but the hype quickly subsided and all that were left from the original openings was the Mississauga Heartland Location (lucky for me!!). My father has always loved the coffee here, much more so than Starbucks or Tim Hortons. I have been coming here for years and surprising my co-workers with Krispy Kreme donunts on certain occasions. In some ways, having one of the only Krispy Kreme's in Canada so near to my home..its almost an exclusive club!! Although you can get the Krispy Kreme goodness from your local gas station and supermarket, there is nothing like getting one fresh off the donut line at the Heartland location. The original concept was decorated in a retro theme complete with paper hats that made you feel like you were back in 50's. They have since updated the concept to a more modern, work oriented theme. Free wifi, usb outlets built into the wall with the power, lower tables for your laptops or tablets and couches. This makes Krispy Kreme a much more productive and enjoyable seating experience. Although, they have been known for donuts, they have quite good muffin type selections (called Pull Aparts), bagels and croissants. If you have never had a Krispy Kreme donut and your in Mississauga, try it..you won't be sorry. Here is a little tip..if you do buy a dozen and take them home, if you want to have the oven fresh taste from the box..put a donut in the microwave for 8 secs. No more, no less...8 sec is all that is needed to bring the freshness home with you!!
