  • There are a lot of incredible family friendly resorts in Arizona. Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak is not one of them. This Resort is run down and in need of some help. The night we stayed, the hotel was sold out and we were in a two story casita. While spacious and a cool layout, it was upon walking in the room we immediately noticed a strong smell of mustiness. A smell I couldn't get use to. Disgusting! Not long after being in the room I noticed a trail of ants up the wall and down into the kitchen area. I called the front desk and they immediately sent out someone who was friendly, that put down a gel that killed them. Annoyed and disgusted we dealt with it because the property was sold out. Later in the evening we noticed an even larger trail of ants in another part of the hotel room. Again someone came out and put down gel. I have never stayed in a hotel when I've needed to call about an ant problem, much less twice. But one of the biggest concerns was the staircase railing. The stairs were steep and narrow and when coming down the stairs when we grabbed onto the railing it was so loose it looked like it like it was going to pull out of the wall. I reported it to management, as this is a huge liability to when the rail finally detaches and could quite possibly send someone down the stairs.
