  • Had to drop into Phoenix for a week for a conference/training. This hotel was conveniently pretty close to the main areas that I needed to be in, so it worked for my needs. And, psh, close to an outdoor mall with plenty of awesome food? Totally down. From the airport, it's a good drive, but it's really not that bad. Around 20 minutes, with no traffic. Main freeways, and, once you exit off the freeway to get here, just a few surface streets, and you're here. Parking is plentiful, where they also have a parking structure. No gate to go through, or where you'll need to put in your hotel key to swipe to get through. Service was great. Checked in and checked out with no issues. Had a few questions, which they could promptly answer. I asked for a room to be away from the ice machine, somewhere upstairs, and non-smoking, and they completely accommodated those requests. Unfortunately, I didn't realize I'd have an elevator right behind the hotel room, so I could hear people trying to go to the gym at 5am. Oy. -_- The facility in general is pretty clean. I was fine with my hotel room (and I'm more than a bit of a germaphobe), the gym had updated equipment (Precor! Nice!), the breakfast was standard, but it filled me up before my classes. Overall, no complaints here. Only issue with my room was that I couldn't exactly open the bathroom door without blocking my room's hall way. I was staying by myself, so not a big deal, but I had to swing it completely against the wall to walk back into the office area, and something about the floor wasn't level because the door made an ugly scraping/scratching noise as it rubbed against the floor. One of the really cool things was that the hotel provided brown sack "lunches" for their patrons. First come, first serve. Not much in there, but it helped during snack times. Typically came with an apple, napkins, bottled water, granola bar, and another treat of some sort. Unfortunately, the breaded treat that came in with mine, every single day of the week, was always moldy. Ick. Also, they have a small marketplace that is open at all hours. Need some midnight snacks? Got it. Bandages or toiletry items? Yup, here. Small bottles of wine? Not a big selection, but you'll get what you need. Anyways, it was a very good facility that fit my business needs. Close to a shopping center to some good dinner choices. Clean, clean, clean in many ways. Gym with updated equipment (almost unheard of) was a BIG bonus for me. Would stay here again if I had to come back for business.
