I was debating whether to post this review or not but I finally decided that it was time for others to hear about my experience with this dealership. Hopefully, my review will save someone their hard-earned money and more importantly - mental health.
I purchased a "Pre-Owned Certifitied" Honda Civic 2015 from Honda West back in April 2016. The salesman was nice, not pushy at all and he made me believe that the car has gone through their rigorous inspection and is pretty much second to brand new. I drove away confident that I made a great investment.
Half a year later, I noticed that left side of the car had what they call - "tiger" stripes on the paint. You couldn't really see the discoloration during harsh daylight but in the afternoon sun the drivers side paint looked hideous. I went to a pro auto body paint shop for an evaluation and I was told that the left side of the car with "tiger" stripes had been damaged in a wreck and was fixed and painted over. I was obviously extremely upset by their conclusion and stormed over to Honda West. I was helped there by Ryan Harper who basically told me that although I had bought a "Pre-Owned" Certified car it didn't mean that the car had been in a wreck!!! WTH!!! (They did show me CarFax when I was buying a car and it didn't have any record of an accident. However, everyone knows, that some accidents never get reported).
Anyway, Ryan inspected my car and said that all doors were original and he didn't see any signs of a previous collision. He did admit that the paint on the drivers side looked pretty bad and it needed to be fixed. He made sure to tell me that their paint guy was the best in the biz and my car paint will look fantastic!
I had to bring in my car twice to address the paint issue. They did get rid of the "tiger" stripes but they left a whole bunch of spider web scratches from the rotary buffing tool all over the vehicle as well as insane hologram marks. If you don't know what it is - google. When I brought the car in the second time, they did take out some holograms but not all of them. They did fix up some scratches and rock chips but they never fixed a door ding as they promised and actually added one more to the collection which I noticed only a few days after I picked up the car.
Today I had my car washed by a mobile car wash service and ironically the first thing they noticed was my paint condition! The car wash guy was amazed by how bad my paint looked and he was wondering what happened to my vehicle. Believe it or not, but it took him 10 minutes to take out all spider web marks and holograms from my hood! I can now actually see the paint's beautiful pearl sheen!
The bottom line of this whole story is that Honda West is a pretty shady business. I still don't know if my car was in a wreck or not but they should disclose somewhere that "Pre Owned Certified" doesn't mean "No Previous Wreck Collision" and they sure as hell need to fire their paint detail staff because they have absolutely "0" expertise and experience.
By the way, my BFs grandpa just leased a brand new Honda Accord from Honda West and he made a mistake for getting 19" wheels (rides too hard). Now Honda West refuses to give him different wheels or exchange the car because he put 1 mile on the odometer. Jesus Christ!!! Shame on you Honda West!
