| - I've been to this place before in the PAST, and had a great experience. That was when Elly had just relocated to her new location. Elly was then professional and quick, although still attentive. But NOW...
The second time around, almost a year later, was quite a different experience for me. The first time, when I asked her if I should pencil/crayon in my eyebrows on a day to day basis, she answered that no and that shaping them would do the job, and it did. The second time however, she kept talking about how great my eyebrows would be dyed, for them to appear darker, even when I did not mention anything on the subject. I eventually got convinced (read: pressured) into getting it done for an additional fee.
During the eyebrow shaping, I felt a lot of pain, but thought it was normal. There was a region right below my eyebrow, where she waxed, that hurt a lot - I express my discomfort to her, and immediately she knew where before I had to point it out (which then clued me in that the place that was hurting was fairly red for her to be able to see it as well). After she had dyed my eyebrows, it still hurt. I checked in the mirror before leaving, my forehead and eyebrow area were pink and the dye made me look like I had some kind of unibrow. She said that some of it would come off and told me to not worry.
6 hours after, it became apparent that it wasn't some minor irritation. The skin below my eyebrow was still bright pink and VERY sensitive to touch. One of my friend that saw me even thought I had gotten punched in the eye. Turns out, when she waxed my eyebrows, she didn't hold the skin around the eye properly. And since the skin in this area is fragile, she basically waxed off a whole layer or two of skin (two layers of epidermis). The following week, the skin darkened, then it clotted, and then the clots feel off, bit by bit. It's now close to being healed now, but it's a good thing it wasn't done before an important event...
I initially didn't want to write this review as I thought it could happen to anybody to have a bad job done, but when I called them, Elly, who happened to be the one doing my eyebrows, denied completely that it had happened. She said I looked fine when I left and told me to slap some cream on it, any kind. Needless to say, "any cream" would have done more damage than good and I looked up online correct information (in this case, Vitamin E or Aloe can be used, as they accelerate the skin repair process).
Oh and that dye job? A few days after, everything was gone (which is a good thing, I suppose), but she said it was suppose to last 6 months... I'm now waiting for my eyebrows to grow back as they are uneven after her waxing and won't go back to her place anymore. Used to be good, but not anymore. There are some other reviews (filtered however) that indicate a similar trend...
TLDR; Was great in the past, inattentive to costumers nowadays. Try at your own risk. Check the picture for an idea of what it looked like, a few days after (when clotting was complete and it wasn't so swollen).
