I've evolved into a serious Yelper - I now scope out the competition and give it a whirl. Such is what happened when I was across the street at At Home. Turned right onto the main street only to make a u-turn when the Yelp gods conveniently showed me Fizz, just across the street. Perfect timing to say the least as I had been to Pop Drinks the day before.
Fizz and Pops are essentially the same concept. You choose a size, a soda base and toppings. An immediate stand out is drinks are organized by soda base categories. As in all the Dr. Pepper drinks are in one spot, Sprite in another. I also noticed Fizz was slightly more expensive than Pop but we are taking a few cents.
I ordered The Professor per the recommendation of an employee. She seemed newer there so I wasn't sure if her recommendation was something she had tried. By the time I paid another employee came around to notify me their guarantee. If I didn't like it, they would remake another drink. As I took my Yelp pictures, I sipped on my drink, very strong coconut flavor. I decided I didn't like it very much and without dismay they switched out my drink. In exchange I went with Berry Good Doctor. In comparison to Pops the flavors weren't very distinct.
As I was about to leave I asked for a punch card. Had I not asked I probably wouldn't have gotten one. The other employee seemed a lot more knowledgeable about the drinks.
I would return and intend to try their Italian sodas!
