| - I will find any excuse to party. And there is no better excuse to drink tequila especially the booze with a worm, than poolside in El Barrio De Scottsdale's nueva revolución, El Santo Cantina. It is my penance to the Mexican Goddess of Food for all of her wonderful cuisine.
The restaurant is built around a Mexican style resort pool and features a Cantina with an extensive patio in a casual atmosphere, personalized music outdoors and an offering of private villas, VIP casitas, a palapa grande bar, reclining lounge chairs in view of a waterfall.
The new restaurant features a Baja-style menu prepared by Executive Chef Tim Fields, formerly of Chelsea's Kitchen, and combines Mexican flavors in the food and cocktails.
The El Santo Especial Margaritas came in at $8. The Trio, an affordable appetizer of guacamole, fire roasted salsa and queso fundito. $7. But the queso cools a little too rapidly for me. I don't know what you do about it besides flambé and what could possibly go wrong with that. Then we finished with three Chipotle Shellacked Rib eye Tacos $11.
After dinner my gal and I retired to a lounge next to the pool with drinks. What a wonderful environment to talk, laugh, mingle and have a great time. And the warrior princess of a nearly full Moon shown down on all her little darlings last night.
Cinco De Mayo will be ridiculous, bring your swimsuit and your hotbod. Thank you Taylor and Shelby our servers, you were awesome gals. Next on my list, bringing my sexy summer body and jumping in that pool.
