| - If you are adventurous (like me), then get up onstage for a chance to get hypnotized. Anthony does have a few guidelines for volunteers: can't be drunk or high, and you have to believe in the power of hypnotism. My tip, if you do go up onstage, do not drink any alcohol all day. I wasn't drunk (I followed the rules), but I was drinking and gambling all day, so my psyche was a bit off. He goes through a test to pick off the people who don't pass his first hypnosis test. He was able to get me a little bit (or so I am told, by the person I came with who was in the audience). He put me right to sleep and I slept on the chest of a very bosomy woman next to me (she had soft pillows for my big ole head). But alas, something caught me and all of a sudden, I was out of it (they had opened the doors to let some latecomers in, and I heard a Wheel of Fortune slot machine. That brought me out of it). Anthony was none too pleased with whoever opened the door, as he needs complete silence and darkness. So I sat onstage, watching the whole thing, and I may have made further upset Anthony because I was not hypnotized. Oh well.
I can tell you that as one of the volunteers, those people aren't actors. They are real.
Anthony Cools puts on a good show. Hilarious and very raunchy jokes. Have an open mind, and you may just get hypnotized (or you can watch other people on stage humiliate themselves while they act out sex acts, count how many boobs they have, and forget their name). That's all I will say without giving too much away.
I had a blast and would definitely go again. I probably won't get up onstage, but everyone should at least try. Have an open mind and get ready to embarrass yourself if you do.
