  • *SCAMMERS *SHODDY WORK *NO CUSTOMER SERVICE I had two tubs refinished/painted and BOTH started peeling. I had to rip out and completely replace BOTH and they refused to take any responsibility for either one. Complete headache and I'm out a lot of money! See the pics I attached for proof. Tub #1: Had refinished 9/29/16, in a rental. It started peeling 2 months later!!! When I originally called them out, they said they couldn't do it because the faucet was leaking. So I called a plumber out, he said he fixed it. Tubby's goes back out and says the faucet is still leaking but they can do it. Nothing else was said! So I'm thinking "ok, we're good". Two months later, my tenant starts complaining that it's peeling like crazy! Tubby's reply is that the leaking faucet 'compromised' the paint job and that voided the warranty. WHAT?! You never said anything about a voiding a warranty. If the faucet is causing it, why is it peeling in the back?! They offered to fix it for a price. So I can be out more money? No thank you! Tub #2: Had refinished 7/18/16, also in a rental. September 2017 (a mere 14 months later), it starts to peel & stain. I email them and they tell me "Unfortunately, it is not under warranty. We are also in the middle of a big project and are not in a position that we can provide an estimate for the work at this time." Basically, sorry you missed the warranty by 2 months and we can't be bothered with you right now anyway. Wow, just wow! Yes, crappy companies still exist and this is one of them. In both cases, I had to completely rip out the tub/shower and replace it costing me thousands - which I should've just done in the first place. Do these refinish jobs really work? I don't know - but I do know that you shouldn't go with Tubby's to do it. Whatever excuse/reply/rebuttal they add to this - just look at the pictures. In both cases, the tub started peeling. In both cases, they took zero responsibility and I had to completely replace the tub/shower. Coincidence? I think not!
