| - Overall had a great time, because we had great company.
The good:
-$10 for pre-sale tickets online
-super fast entry process/wristbands & id check/beer ticket purchase
-huge area for kids and families away from the entrance/exit
-some security presence making rounds in police vests
-parking was easy, free, and available
-everyone was nice, and no one seemed inappropriately inebriated
This was a last minute event for us, so when I heard BBQ & beer fest, I assumed it was going to have more of a beer selection. It was San Tan only. For me personally, I wasn't a huge fan of the Epicenter (Amber) or the Pineapple. The Hopshock IPA was best.
Beer tickets were $5 each.
I would have to agree with other reviewers on some areas that could use a little improvement:
-it was a little overcrowded, in common areas, and between long lines to food stands, and what should be open walkways.
-a lot of vendors were selling at high price points for food. Best deal was a tri tip sandwich for $4.
-there was a mac n cheese stand that neglected to inform all of us in line that they were out of Mac n cheese, and only serving nachos. As a tip to them, shout out to the people, or put up a sign saying that. That was disappointing, and a waste of time.
Overall I had fun, and the Phoenix valley is so great in that it holds so many awesome community events. This one was average for me, but I didn't do my research beforehand, so can't really complain!
