  • The place is lovely, but on the expensive side for pre-made sandwiches and salads. Items are not made-to-order, so taking the walk down to Panera or Bruegger's for a similar item is worth the trip out of your way, particularly if you have an allergy or have specific needs or requests. They have several tea selections and some simple coffee choices, but since it is associated with Pitt, it is a Pepsi-only location and the drinks are all bottled, not fountain drinks. This detracts from it in my opinion, but I understand not everyone would agree. One thing continues to bother me about it, though. I work across the street and frequent this location out of sheer convenience, not because I love it that much. The lunch time at my workplace is insanely early -- 10:30 AM. Several of us come over every single work day at that time hoping to get lunch. Infrequently, their sandwich and soup selections are ready then, but this is quite rare. We usually have to settle for pre-packaged salads which vary widely in freshness and quality. The sandwiches are quite good even if they are pre-made and sitting in a case, but it is so odd to me that with people regularly asking for lunch at 10:30 why a business would just absolutely not care that they could be appeasing these customers and bringing in more from our workplace. There are dozens of us who would eat here much more regularly if they only shifted their lunch offerings up by a half an hour. The cookies are terrific and are probably the best thing in the place, but they are still not worth the price. But, again, I will continue to go because there is absolutely nowhere else near to my workplace where I can get something this fast. The ladies behind the counter, though, are great and it is totally not their fault that their sandwich makers or bosses or managers or whoever won't recognize the opportunity they are missing by not starting their lunch earlier.
