I wish I could rate this theater with 5 stars.
Why I can't:
It smells like old moldy carpet in the lobby
Um, there is a partition wall in front of every row of seats. I am 5'7 and when u sit in the recliner (21 and over theater), you can't see 1/4 of the bottom of the screen!!!
Everyone in my row commented on it out loud and I asked the server if anyone had ever complained: his response was a look that said "of course" and he said that MANY people have complained.
Even taller men in my row couldn't see the whole screen. The more you reclined, the more you lost view of the bottom screen.
That sucked.
The sound in the theater was not loud enough. Only once did the rear house speakers activate and that was at the END of the movie. It was way too low, especially when you're eating crunchy food.
Please, AMC corporate, please spend the money to update the theater lobby and overall interior. Paint, carpet, decor are still out of the 80's. Come on, it's the Esplanade. Take note of Ipic Scottsdales interior and mirror that as much as possible!!! We all know you have the capital to do it.
The plus side:
Not that expensive for 21 and over.
Seats are comfy
Food was actually better than Ipic theater in Scottsdale. Our food (2 entrees and a dessert for three of us) was $35.
Much more affordable than the over priced menu at Ipic.
Parking validation for the garage is a plus
Nice staff
