| - I ordered a piece of furniture online on July 15. Please be aware that when you place an order online, it doesn't actually go anywhere until someone from the store calls you. I did not know this, but luckily I called the store on July 24 for an update on my order since it still showed "in process." At this point, I was told that the order was never actually placed, but they would be happy to do that for me then. I was told the item would be in either the week of August 5 or August 12, which was fine. On July 27, I noticed that there were two charges to my credit card for the same order from two different DFW locations, Pleasant Hills and Wexford. I called the Pleasant Hills store to check into this, and I was told someone would call me back. No one called me back, but one of the charges was removed, so I guess they did resolve it but never let me know.
Since I still had not heard anything as of August 15, I called the Pleasant Hills store again. I spoke to someone who said he would check on my order and call me back in "a couple minutes." As of August 19, I still had not received a call back, so I called again. Someone named Cory answered the phone this time and said he was helping another customer and asked me to call back in ten minutes. I called back, I was then told I needed to call the Wexford store. I just spoke to someone at the Wexford store and was told the order was placed on 8/5 and would be in either the last week of August or first week of September.
I understand that maybe 6 weeks is not THAT long to wait for furniture (is it?) but the complete misinformation I've been given, the lack of communication, and the fact that my order probably would have never been placed had I not called them to follow up in the first place is ridiculous. This has been quite an experience so far. It should not be this much work to get a dresser. Anyway, I will come back and post a follow up when and IF I even receive this item, but until then I wanted to warn people not to order from this company unless you plan on doing extensive follow up and getting the run around.
