  • Really good 90 minute show. I've seen most of the bits they did Saturday night online and on the telly. There was some new stuff too. You too can score discount tix at Vegas.com. I sat in the balcony because, honestly, it was more economical AND, importantly, they don't pick many audience volunteers from up there. I don't like to be part if the show, I just want to sit and watch. It was close enough to see everything. So, I'll contradict a few earlier Yelp!ers and say that I would get those balcony seats again. I was smack dead center in the first row behind the sound booth. You can get a few rows closer if you want to sit on the sides. They aren't abusive to their volunteers, but Penn may say something snarky related to the next trick and your involvement. So, my advice is: don't watch too much of them for a few weeks before you go see them. Maybe longer if your memory is sharper than my addled recollection organ. They ended with the Magic Bullet bit after doing a few tricks in their own way that expose the more traditional setups and illusions used in similar tricks like Sawing A Woman In Half, Cold Reading/mentalism, and a few others. Yeah Penn is an atheist, they are both libertarians if I understand correctly, and you will hear some about the latter, but they keep it mostly non-controversial. Unless you are a TSA agent. And you'll hear an unoriginal and common section about liberty vs security that is right out of the condensed version of The Worst Libertarian One-Liners. It's like getting a shot, short sting and it's over quickly. There's also a bit of self effacing humor, but Penn isn't capable of very much of that. I looked forward to this for weeks and my only real complaint is that it wasn't long enough.
