| - We were in Montreal a few weeks back on a house hunting trip. I've been working out of our office in town, flying home on weekends, so have been able to try a lot of local eateries, and my wife was pretty keen to try this pulled pork poutine is been raving about. . . Only problem is we were travelling with our seven month old. When we arrived J-F, the maître d', was so kind. He locked our stroller in the otherwise unused coat check, seated us in the most quiet corner, and reassured us repeatedly how it was no problem us having the baby with us. This was our first night venturing outside of room service - we didn't want to "those people" who take a crying baby out and ruin everyone else's evening - but My wife just HAD to have that poutine! We did our best to order and eat as quickly as possible, since the little one was very quiet when we first arrived, but the music and atmosphere got the best of him and we eventually had to take turns walking and rocking him. The staff were all understanding, and we paid and left as quickly as possible, but J-F made a point of telling us about being a parent himself, and about his family is so important in Quebec, and reassuring us that it was OK, it really meant a lot to us. That being said, once we move and settle in, we'll have a babysitter for evenings out, but the entire experience was handled so well by the staff I just had to comment and say "thank you!"
