| - There's not much I don't like about the Fox and Fiddle franchise. Chain-wide, the wings are consistent, the taps are numerous and varied, and the staff are typically friendly. This one is no exception. At Yonge and St. Clair, this pub is a good halfway meeting point for folks who live downtown (me) and folks who live in the north of the city (virtually everyone else I know it seems). Larger than many of the other Foxes in the franchise, this one has a more cosmopolitan feel to it, if that's possible from a chain pub. Must be it adapting to the neighbourhood.
The food is not dissimilar to that of the other franchises and it runs different specials every day of the week. There's a bit of variety to the menu, and the taps don't disappoint either. The beer appears in a wide variety and is poured properly. There's not much wrong with this place.
I'm usually joined by my comedy-writing pals, where we'll chin-wag, down a few pints, and go over each other's jokes to see if there's anything funny in them. Anything. Successful writing night or not, the place is cozy, yet pub-elegant if that's possible. The manager at one point pulled me aside having seen us writing one night and told me he liked what I saw on-stage at Absolute a few nights before. Hey, it's nice to be noticed, but someone should tell him a real joke for once.
