| - My experiences in the past were riddled with substandard food and bad service, so I stayed away. A work assignment brought me back here and I'm glad it did because now I see why people love it.
I've decided that the only place to sit is the bar. That's where are the excitement is and the bartenders are amazing. Not just at what they do with the libations, but because they know what customer service means. They're knocking it out of the park. During my time there, they passed out shots a couple times to all the patrons just because it was Friday. It was an amazing energy.
Spicy Mussels ($26; H/H $13): This was recommended by our bartender and I was actually hesitant! You know what happened next - I am so incredibly glad we ordered it because it is truly fantastic! Seriously, WOW. The mussels are served in a tomato stew made with white wine and it is absolutely perfect. We literally wiped the bowl clean with bread. There was no way we were leaving a drop because it's that good. And that happy hour price is KILLER!
Mediterranean Flatbread ($16): Pesto, goat cheese, artichoke, roasted tomato, and olives. Whoa. This is another home run. I remembered enjoying the flatbreads in the past, but not as much as now. The crust was so, so good - crusty perfection and ridiculous flavor. The toppings definitely sealed the deal.
USDA Certified Angus Ribeye, 18 oz ($59; H/H $29.50): I'm certain this is a big part of their popularity - 50% off steaks during happy hour. Yeah, it's a great deal. This is my third time with their steaks and I don't know what's up, but I don't enjoy them. This time, the temperature was perfect (I ordered rare plus), but there was a thick charcoal crust on the steak. We wrote it off as the way their steaks are prepared, so we took off what we could and enjoyed it as much as possible. Then, I saw photos of their steaks and realized that there is usually no crust. I should've said something, but I also wonder why they would serve it like that? Either way, I'm avoiding their steaks or I'm going to figure out a way to get that perfectly-cooked steak from them!
I love their choice of sides! They're all delicious.
Brussels Sprouts and Honey Swine ($8.50)
Truffle Crispy Fries ($8.50)
Sweet Potato Tots ($8.50)
Doughnuts with Caramel and White Chocolate ($8.50): Fresh delicious, fluffy doughnuts. Really great. The white chocolate sauce is amazing. I could eat like 50 more.
Their cocktails are insane. I got Blood and Sand (Scotch, Cherry Herring, Sweet Vermouth, and orange juice) because that's my jam. I'm not a straight up scotch drinker, but I love a good scotch cocktail. Their interpretation of Blood and Sand is AMAZING and obviously, you get a show with it.
