If you can imagine having a real Greek Yia Yia (grandmother)who cooks up heavenly food than she may have incarnated as the chef here at Ilios. Everything we have sampled From the kitchen in this mainly take away place surpasses your own Yia Yia ..I would guarantee it.
I'll start with my favorite the lamb moussaka . its a luscious layered dish of creamy light béchamel, minced lamb under pinned by perfectly seasoned eggplant and potato slices. By far the best I've ever had and my vote
For best on the planet...all the Yia Yia's be damned.
There is a veggie version of lentil moussaka that runs a close second place.
Everything else we have had here is extraordinary as well which includes a hearty and healthy chicken soup
with hunks of tender chicken and fresh veggies; a homey and tasty white bean soup great for the cold MTL nights; delectably seasoned stuffed grape leaves veggie or beef; very upscale spanakopita which is light and cheesy in a not too phlaky philo; and a red pepper feta cheese dip that you can't stop eating.
All the desserts are made on premises as well: the baklava is done a few ways and it super good , there's lots of chocolaty items including chocolate covered figs that are straight out yum.
Sorry to everyone who thinks their Yia Yia's cooking is the best....Ilios beats your granny real or imagined.
