Well, I am a native and tonight was the first time I had been here. We both wish we had stuck with old faithful "houston's". I get the whole ambiance thing from the old days but it was not for me. If we are going to pay that high of prices they need to do a lot things better. You can keep the decor if you want but bring some elegance. For you of those that have been to Houston's you know a good restaurant. Houstons is the best balance of all. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu , the atmosphere is wonderful, you can dress how you please, and the prices are not totally crazy. However, Durants was. The complete opposite. They had a steak and lobster combo for ......drum roll please.........$189.95. I got the trout and I could only force myself to eat half. I asked the waiter if it was breaded and he said no. That was a lie. It was breaded and tasteless. It had absolutely no seasoning or flavor. A salad comes with your meal but if you want a Cesar salad it will cost you 5 extra dollars. The lame veggie platter was beyond disappointing. It also was really strange walking in through the kitchen but whatever. The only good thing about that is they would be stupid to mess with your food cause they are constantly being watched. So, 120.00 later me and my husband needed a "do over" for dinner. I would not recommend this place to anyone and will not go back. If you are reading this and want a good place to eat go to Houston's!
