| - The Bad:
-Service; We arrived just as they opened the doors, and despite it only being the two of us we were forced to sit at the bar in very uncomfortable chairs because we didn't have reservations. We assumed this meant they were booked for the night, but when we left nearly 2 hours later the place was still half empty - seems like they could've spared a small table for us. Our bartender wasn't around much either, and seemed like he was always off somewhere else.
-Entree; Both my boyfriend and I ordered the scallops, which was $28 each. To our disappointment, this hefty price only included 4 scallops on the plate, a small spoonful of purée, and nearly half a dozen other assorted bits of food that didn't go very well together. I was tempted to send it back and ask for something else, but since our only waiter was the bartender we didn't see him much when walked off. For nearly $30 we expected something much better.
-Dessert; We split the chocolate-covered bacon s'mores, and we thought it would come already put together or at least be a fairly neat plate - nope! We had to tear up the frozen chocolate-covered bacon and graham crackers ourselves and assemble the s'more, which only succeeded in getting our hands very dirty and sticky by the end. It didn't even taste good, so definitely wasn't worth it.
-Out-dated menus; We were here the Sunday after Valentine's Day, about half a week later, but they hadn't even bothered to change their menus promoting a special Valentine's dinner. Things like this are just lazy, and I'd expect it from a grimy drive-thru place, not a fairly pricey restaurant like this one.
The Good:
-Appetizers; Both the grilled cheese and mac & cheese were wonderful. I could eat a huge bowl of the mac for an entree, and probably should've.
-Music; There was live music playing on the night we ate here, and she gave out free CDs and shirts. So at least we felt like we got our money's worth after those scallops... almost.
-Drinks; Sitting at the bar made it easier to order drinks starting out, and at least those were good and arrived quickly - though making a mixed drink isn't exactly difficult. We probably would've gotten more, but since our bartender/waiter kept disappearing that didn't happen.
Overall, I'm very disappointed by our experience at this restaurant, which is unfortunate because we'd heard good things about it from our friends, but our time here proves otherwise. There were some positives, but not nearly enough to make up. I doubt we'll be returning.
