| - First time in, it's First Friday. Let's start with the atmosphere.
The 100 year old house is perfect for a pub. Eclectic music. English themed decor, rustic tables and chairs. Great for a night out with your mates. Friendly and knowledgeable staff who go out of their way for customers. Large alcohol selection.
Now, the food. Everything we had was good. Clam Chowder A+. Fish and Chips A+ (with fantastic tarter sauce!). Whiskey Salmon was tasty, but the rice pilaf and asparagus was already cold. Too long at the pass?
Which brings us to our big issue, timing. Our food took unacceptably long to come out. We ended up waiting 15 minutes or more for each repeat fish order. I'm not sure if the kitchen is always this slow, or they were short staffed, as only 2 gals were waiting all the inside and outside tables. Since parking is paid for by the hour, this could put a crimp in your night. We arrived at 8pm, to a basically empty restaurant and it's now 10 to 10. The servers have been running non-stop, so I feel it may be the kitchen or someone not coming in that may be at fault. Don't be super hungry coming in, and plan to spend some time. If you have to be somewhere at a certain time after dinner, go somewhere else or don't do apps/meal or all you can eat.
Hopefully, it won't be this way on our return trip. I fear the wait could just overcome the delicious food for me. It certainly tanked the rating in my mind.
