  • If you know what authentic Italian food is... Don't go to Buddy V's. For $22 each, (lunch special) you can get an appetizer, main, and desert. While the portions are appropriate, the food itself was not. My meatballs ("grandma's meatballs" appetizer) were great, they tasted homemade! The "Spaghetti Bolognese" was incredibly basic, the sauce tasted like it came from a can, and the spaghetti noodles were simply basic. The biggest disappointment was the cannoli. Obviously I had high expectations not only because of the price, but because of the insane hype that surrounds this restaurant, because of the fact that it is owned by Buddy Valastro and family, from the show Cake Boss, which regularly features and highlights their cannolis as a staple item. It was so incredibly stale on the outside, I had to literally smack it with my knife to knock a chunk off of it to eat, which would have been okay if it wasn't just a greasy, dried up piece of crust. The filling was sub-par as well, I'd have rather had some cool whip inside there, at least it would be somewhat pleasant. Overall, the food was poor. Our service was phenomenal, both of our waiters/ servers were very kind, fun, and knowledgeable. If you're looking for good food, go somewhere else.
