| - I love crème brûlée almost as much as I love my wife, and if it's on a menu, I'm ordering it. So when I heard of Torched Goodness, I drove from Gilbert all the way to the Scottsdale Airpark (63 miles round trip) just to get some. And while it isn't worth the drive, if I lived near their stops they'd have to garnish my paycheck to cover my tab. We bought a dozen just before Thanksgiving, and got vanilla, sea salt caramel, and pumpkin. I'm a purist, and preferred the vanilla, but all three were excellent. The sea salt was a hit with my wife. They are generous with the sugar on top, so you get a nice thick shell which gives a satisfying "crack". I have had crème brûlée that was better, but it also cost double the price for a similar or smaller portion.
Since we were taking a bunch home, they have covers for their containers, and the good sense not to torch them in advance. They give you instructions on how to do it at home so you never have a soggy brûlée.
