| - Stayed last Saturday night after the Cavs game. This is the second time we have stayed here in the last few months and have yet to be impressed (I don't see it happening). You might think this will be a nice hotel due to the nameplate, but make no mistake about it: this is not a typical Hilton Garden Inn. Location is good, but that is the end of the positives. The rooms are laughable. They seriously look like rooms in a local rundown hotel in the hood, not the rooms in a higher level nationally respected chain - see my pics and tell me if you disagree. Our room, 210, faced Carnegie avenue, but was also directly across from some type of detox clinic that had many unsavory looking characters loitering around the building entrance. Our room was also directly above the entrance to the hotel and people were yelling and carrying on throughout a good portion of the night. Bed, tv, bathroom, climate control were all mediocre. Volume from the hallway in the morning was very loud due to the manner in which the doors close / slam (good luck sleeping in).
There is an $18 charge to park in the lot the hotel provides and the breakfast is not complimentary. I think complimentary breakfasts stink, but most people seem to enjoy them. I bring up the breakfast and parking thing because these are additional costs that you may have not anticipated. Staff was very friendly (even the cleaning crew), so that is a plus. This hotel may be okay for a night if you are in a pinch and have no other options, but if you do have other options I would recommend spending your money more wisely than I did. Bottom Line: Price was WAY TOO HIGH for what is provided. Total bill for our stay - with parking charge - was $179. Would have been satisfied with the price point if my total bill would have been $99.
