Chet's was recommended to me by my brother in-law -- a frugal guy with a lot of car knowledge. Since he recommended Chet's, I have been there 5 times (for routine oil changes, new tires and a repair). In the past I have been burned by revealing my lack of car knowledge to auto repairmen. At Chet's I feel completely comfortable using terms like, "thingy," and "it's making a weird sound," to describe my concerns. They are patient and honest, sometimes even sacrificing business by telling me advice that ultimately helps me avoid expensive services and parts (similar services that I have been persuaded into getting from other repair shops). The general vibe at Chet's is one that goes along with the decor; It feels like a 1960's family owned business that treats its customers like part of their tight-knit community. The only thing in their way of truly having regular customers is that they are great mechanics who fix cars the first time you take it in.
