| - I had heard lots of things about the Red Rock, both good and bad, but I must say that I had an overall enjoyable stay. You'll often hear that it's a "locals" establishment, because of how far it is from the hustle and bustle of the Strip, and it's true for the most part. While there are undoubtedly many tourists who stay at locations such as the Red Rock, you can't help but feel a different vibe than what you'd find in Downtown or the Strip. It's evident upon the fact that you can spend an entire day, maybe even an entire stay, within the confines of the resort and do many a things. Besides the usual lounging by the pool (of which there are many and even on a Saturday, space for lounging looked plentiful), you can also enjoy a movie, go bowling, take your kids to the arcade, enjoy dinner at the many restaurants both inside and outside of the casino, and go shopping right down the street.
The rooms are also very nice and spacious, even the standard rooms. I suppose my only complaint was that the shower in the restroom kept leaking out to floor, and I would have to put a couple of towels by the entrance to the shower in order to prevent the water from flowing. Other than that and the fact that the strip is a bit of a drive away, I cannot think of any other issues I had, and I'd gladly stay here once more.
