| - I first tried a Sprinkles cupcake in Scottsdale, AZ a handful of years ago and was quite happy to sample several specimens at the time. Successive visits yielded similar reactions: sugar high that mellowed out to a general state of well-being only induced by baked goods. My visit to the Linq location last night was enjoyable enough, but I think I'm done paying almost $4/cupcake. Yes, I'm paying for the "brand name" and slick marketing, but still, that's pricey. I'm glad that Sprinkles offers mini-size cupcakes (only $2!) for those who still want a treat but are trying to be disciplined (like me...sort of). My red velvet mini cupcake was tasty: cake had nice texture, but come on, all I tasted (and cared about because I'm really 3 years old!) was the cream cheese frosting. Yum.
Cookies and ice cream are new-ish products, but I can't comment on the quality because I didn't order either item.
FYI: One can request "frosting shots!" Yes folks, one can still ask for a little paper cup full of whatever flavour frosting you want, just in case the gargantuan amount of icing on your cupcake isn't enough already (like in my case). So, Sprinkles, you're cute and fun and A-OK in my book.
