  • I had a very traumatic experience with a dentist in Scottsdale a few years ago. Basically, he placed a crown on a tooth that had a root canal, the cement got stuck, they tried flossing it out, all the while I had horrible shooting nerve pain and pressure and left balling my eyes out. Unfortunately, I have been experiencing mouth pain on the other side, so I decided to check out Dr. Goates after researching reviews of dentists nearby. First off, his staff is amazing! The front desk, the dental assist and hygienists were great! Not only were they super personable and professional but they genuinely seemed to care. Dr. Goates is amazing! It was pretty obvious that I was nervous - I was bright red, shaking and sweaty. Dr. Goates' calming demeanor completely calmed my nerves. He explained everything to me, reassured me that it would be ok. He also introduced me to the hygienist, told her about my previous experience. The following week I had one of my procedures and the hygienist was great! I didn't feel a thing. (They had to inject antibiotics deep into my gums). Dr. Goates even came to check on me to make sure I did ok. I still have to go back for a few procedures but I highly recommend Dr. Goates!!
