  • I purchased an LG washing machine from Conns in late November. Installation was horrible. It was as if there was a competition to see who could install the most number of washing machines in one day. They "ran out" of zip ties to secure the drain hose down. They didn't include any manuals or tools (needed to level the feet of the machine). They didn't want to use the elbow bracket for the drain but I made them use my old one. Then I read the installation instructions, which say to use the elbow bracket - of course this was missing with my machine. After the first use of the machine it began leaking. I called the store to ask about a return policy but I didn't get a return call, so I went into the store. The manager told me they would call down to their shipping department because apparently the store can do nothing about the return. I explained to them I had a leaking machine and needed an exchange. I was told I would get a call back in 5 days. 5 days! It's been more than 2 months and still no call. I had so little faith in Conns that I just called LG to service the machine anyway. The LG tech came out and noticed the machine was not installed properly and the installers failed to use the supplied hoses. Apparently this machine comes with hoses that are required for use. Great...another item missing from my machine. LG eventually air shipped me the hoses and fixed the machine. Interestingly the LG tech himself told me his personal horror story about how Conns service after a purchase is horrible. Now, after calling Conns so many times I because familiar with the hold message that talks about how they match competitors prices So I asked the store manager to match the price of the machine at Best Buy which has it listed for $100 cheaper. I explained that Best Buy had it listed on their website and he said "it doesn't count because it needs to be in an ad." Huh? I actually laughed when he told me this... "well, their website could have been a typo." I'm not making this up! I then explained that it's listed for $899 at several places and he reiterated that in order to price match it had to be in an ad. Eventually I was given the $100 credit after a few more phone calls. Conns also agreed to refund me my delivery charge because of the missing components, scratches on my floor, and overall horrible experience. The service charge was $80. In late November I was told it would take 2-3 days for me to have the credit on my credit card. After a week I called back, and was told 2-3 weeks as it needs "corporate approval" for $80. So I called back in a month. Then I was told I would get a check in 2-3 months. Still no refund. I've basically given up on this company and learned my lesson - this place is called Conns for a reason....
