  • This rental company does not deserve even one star, if I could give it negative stars I would. I booked a car for the president's day/valentine's day long weekend with the Las Vegas branch Economy Rent a Car. I thought i was getting a good deal at $15/day especially on a long weekend. To my surprise when i arrived at the airport and called for the shuttle pick up, they informed me that there was a recall on their cars and they could not fulfill my reservation. I asked to speak to the manager to see if there is anything he can do to help resolve the situation, perhaps they partnered with other companies for extra cars, or maybe they could give us complimentary days for future rentals. The manager said he could do nothing to help except 10% off a future rental. Both the manager and the employee did not sound like they cared at all that they were leaving their customers without a car to rent. They didn't even apologize for not informing me about the situation earlier. My phone number was given as part of the reservation, a call ANY TIME before i arrived would have been courteous. While this company had great rates, what good is it if they cannot fulfill the reservation??!?!?!? I would have rather paid more to the bigger companies like Hertz or Enterprise and be guaranteed a car for my trip. And the fact that the manager did NOTHING to help with the situation is just poor business management. If this is how the company treats their customers you will not last long as a company. I have emailed the corporate office to request to see a copy of the recall on the cars. I have a feeling that it wasn't actually a recall, but rather they overbooked their cars and thus gave cars to people that rented at a higher daily rate than i originally booked. I will NEVER book with the company again. EVERYONE should be careful when using this agency. It may seem like a good deal when you initially book it but there is no guarantee that you will actually get your car the day you get to the airport so BOOK WITH ANOTHER COMPANY, this one does not practice legitimate business ethics.
