  • I was visiting my friend last weekend and we decided to get facials. I don't normally do facials, so I thought it would be a nice treat. As with anything you go to purchase or be serviced you get up sold for more. So the Aesthetician (Jenny) asked if I wanted dermaplaning and a pumpkin enzyme mask. I told her that I don't want anything that would peel or cause pain, because I had a bad experience with a peel about 5 years ago. She explained that the mask wasn't as harsh as a peel. Well, my face did not handle all those services very well and here I am 4 days later with red blotchy, scabbed, and peeling skin. This is just as bad as the peel I had before, maybe worse because it's deeper from my skin being scraped. The day after the services I sent a picture and text to Jenny and she didn't respond, so I called the salon on Monday when I saw that my face was so bad that I couldn't go to work. Later Jenny called me and said maybe I was allergic to the mask. I'm not entirely sure that is true, but I don't know. I'm pretty sure scraping my face then putting a harsh mask on it didn't help, when I don't normally do those things to my face. Jenny has been texting me, but I really want to express that if you haven't done anything harsh to your face you may want to just limit to one service and build up to additional things as your face gets used to being worked on. I'm frustrated that I spent $92 to miss work and deal with this all week, which is exactly what I didn't want to happen. If I would have known that the pumpkin enzyme mask was more like a peel, then I would have opted to not do that. Jenny reassured me I'm going to look great when it's all peeled. I hope so, because I'm looking scabby right now and frustrated that my "pampering" turned into this ordeal. On another note, I purchased halo extensions and really like them. I had bought other kinds (tape in and weft) extensions from Canyon Falls in Las Vegas and would recommend the salon if you are shopping for extensions.
