| - I would not stay here again. While my room was fairly clean and comfortable, especially with the "L" shaped sofa to lounge on, I found the layout of the hotel, lack of basic amenities, overcharges and poor support from hotel staff to be unacceptable.
Firstly, the lobby is on the 10th floor, which is very inconvenient, not only because you have to ride the elevator from 2 through 9 to check in, you also have to go only to 10 for any snacks, ice, etc. there are NO vending machines in any part of the hotel, so you have to pay $2.75 for a bottle of soda. Only Pepsi products are sold. They are on display where you check in, inside an open refrigerator, so none of the drinks are cold. I followed the signs for "ice and vending", which appear near the elevator on every floor, but which don't exist. There is an ice machine on the 10th floor and the eighth floor. But you can only find that out by asking the staff member, or by going floor to floor, as I did. I don't know why they have the signs, if they don't have the ice or the vending.
Other issues include no free airport shuttle. I arrived by taxi, yet incurred an automatic $20 valet parking fee on my bill. Because the hotel screwed up my reservation and gave me a bill a day earlier than I was to leave, I was able to see these charges and have them removed. Had I not had the extra day to check, I may not have noticed until I checked out. They were 'kind' enough to let me stay in my room for the last night of my stay instead of making me move due to the error in the reservation, which error was made with all the members of my party staying in that hotel.
I have them impression that are really pinching pennies.
The morning breakfast staff were very friendly and accommodating. True southern hospitality there, at least.
The housekeepers threw away items that were not trash which were left out on the desk. I don't recall ever having had that experience ever in a hotel. There are some stains on the sofa upholstery and pink soap scum 'mold' in the shower.
