| - Just called to try to make a new patient appointment. I wait on hold on the automated system forever. The lady that answers picks up and immediately puts me on hold again. Shes comes back on and informs me that they are not able to book a new patient appointment until end of the month (now getting the distinct feeling they just don't care about booking appointments).
I tell her that's fine and that I'd like to come in for an annual check up. She tells me they don't do physicals. I say ok, I want to just meet the doctor, get lab work, whatever. She tells me they don't do labs on the first visit. I reiterate that I just want to come in and establish a relationship with a new family physician. She puts me back on hold, as in, she sits the phone down and I'm just listening to all the conversations happening in the office (um, HIPAA anyone?!).
She finally comes back, now almost 15 minutes into the call and she tells me that she talked to her manager and they don't just do "meet the doctor visits". I say, (yes, huffily) look, I'm just trying to make an appointment with a new doctor, she interrupts with "ma'am, excuse me!".
Um no.
How hard does this have to be? I just want an appointment. Good luck doctors, hope you didn't want any new patients.
