| - WoW! Like stepping into a 1920's picture show... how have I lived in Charlotte for 5 years and only now been to Georges? It's unfair!
I have been hearing about this place and their brunch over and over and over again... but just never really had the right time to go down to south park for brunch. Then, one magical day, my fiance's family was coming into town (there would be 18 of us total) and they put me in charge of brunch - with one stipulation - that it was a cool Charlotte-y place. Alright Georgey B, time to make Sydney look good!
And boy did he EVER! This group was all over the place, some were vegetarians, some were picky, some were vegans... needless to say it was an intimidating crowd to plan for. Georges brunch literally hit the mark with everyone. First thing, if you're ever planning an event for that many people, brunch is really the way to go. What I loved about Georges brunch is that it had a southern flair, but was still really fresh and incorporated a lot of seafood and veggies. You could get the Benedict, hash, gravy, bacon... but you could also get a heirloom beet salad or roasted spring veggies. Plus, DESSERT BAR + fresh beignets! Bonus round.
The waitstaff was wonderful from booking to refills to checkout. I seriously did not have a complaint in the world. Everyone, and I mean everyone, had a lovely time.
Thank you GB! See you soon!
