Unfortunately, my fiance and I didn't get accepted. It wasn't because of income, but because I have a felony shoplifting charge in Chicago, IL from 3 years ago. This charge is a misdemeanor in Nevada, but they don't care.
So I'll just let others know of my experience to help others in their search for an apartment.
1. The app fee totaled to $200. $100 holding fee + $50/person. That's okay.
2. The format of the applications are a joke. Not only do you need to go through a series of online forms, then you get to the 5 pages of forms that are in .DOC and .XLS format, where making a simple check mark becomes an assignment. This doesn't include the forms that follow. Dealing with those apps alone was almost enough reason for me to move on.
3. After clearly specifying that we are moving from out of state, I asked "Jessica" if she would be able to take a few photos with her cellphone of one of the units we were considering, and all I hear is "uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I think so?"...WHAT!? You think so? All you have on your website are altered photos that you paid a photographer, like myself, over $1000 to take and make them look unrealistically good. When people are moving out of state, they need to see where they are really moving into, because we obviously cannot come in and see for ourselves. It's common sense. This alone should have been a clear sign to move to something else, but stupid me was rushing things.
4. As I mentioned above, I have a shoplifting felony (sorry, no interesting story behind it, just one of those dumb moments). All I get is a voicemail saying "We have a couple of questions", but that was Jessica's coward way of saying you're rejected, because when I called back they gave absolutely no sh*ts. That's fine, but they should have been more clear about how they deal with felonies. Now I'm out $100 that I could have blown on something more promising. They will give absolutely no consideration for you. Apparently shoplifting a sweater from a billion-dollar company is enough reason to leave someone out on the street. However, for the folks who smoke weed and do other illegal drugs, including probably dealing, check this place out because I think you have a chance! (See reviews below)
Thankfully, found another place WITHIN AN HOUR. Accepted. Done.
