| - A cute little store on Dundas West. I strolled in because I had to wait for Patois for thirty minutes - and our crew decided to get a snack in the meal time. It is a very small store with one bench to sit on - but it was a beautiful summer night so I was more than happy to stroll around the area after getting the Ice Cream. The staff was also very patient with our sampling and gave recommendations in terms of the most popular choices.
There were a myriad of flavours to choose from: Thai Iced Tea, Salted Caramel Brownie Cheesecake, Hazelnut, etc. I had a chance to try the Thai Iced Tea and Salted Caramel Cheesecake as a sample. The Thai Ice Tea is very flavourful - much more flavourful than my experience at kekou. It is a very strong tea flavour that I thoroughly enjoyed. The Salted Caramel Cheesecake tasted like a frozen cheesecake. I think based on these two flavours, I can extrapolate that their flavours are a lot stronger than most places. The Cheesecake flavour was also very dense in terms of the texture, contributing to the idea that it is more like a frozen cheesecake.
In the end, I decided to get the salted caramel brownie cheesecake because it felt more unique. The texture of the ice cream is probably my favourite aspect - so much denser than most other places. The staff told me the ice cream is actually cheesecake based rather than just flavourings of a cheesecake - which is probably why the texture is as it is. I must dock a point though because I was not impressed with their regular cone, it felt like a very cheap cone to be putting this wonderful ice cream in. Next time, I will likely opt for a waffle cone. Prices are similar to what you expect from a boutique ice cream store (3 dollar for kiddy scoop, 4 for single, 5 for double).
Debit and Cash Only, by the way.
